2019 BMW X1: Refreshed, Changes, Price

BMW’s first in the lineup and fun to drive crossover, the X1 has been around since the 2016 model year in its second generation. With the fierce competition from Audi and Mercedes, BMW must keep the model fresh and the firm was spotted while testing the updated X1. The model will go on sale at some point in 2019 while should show what it has to offer later this year.

The 2019 BMW X1 will bring some visual upgrades, not radical judging by what we can conclude from the prototype version. Some updates will also be inside the cabin including the materials and tech while we don’t have details about what BMW has in mind regarding the powertrains.

2019 BMW X1

2019 BMW X1: Styling Changes

The small package crossover won’t bring radical styling changes with the next refresh. The prototype version of the 2019 BMW X1 has disguised front end section and rear bumper and like every mid-cycle update, this will also focus on the soft parts while the size and shape will remain at the same points.

The front side of the model seems to have sleeker kidney grille version bracketed by the new design headlights. The headlight graphics look like on brand’s latest models and the front bumper has slightly different sculpting as well.

The profile will display the same form with the sharp rising crease while the rear will also go with the tweaked bumper and the new graphics taillights.

Interior, Equipment:

In the cockpit, the small crossover BMW should offer fresh materials and new textures.  Expect the new steering wheel as well.

BMW will also do some improvements to the infotainment system and connectivity features while could also boost the safety technology.

The X1 will be well-equipped from the start and offer fog lights, automatic wipers, 18-inch wheels, driver memory setting, power tailgate, adjustable front seats and more as the base gear. The buyers will also be able to update with the M Sport design, sports suspension, premiums surround sound system, and more.

2019 BMW X1: Powertrain

No details yet about BMW’s intents regarding the powertrain and potential upgrades. In the US the X1 packs the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with the 8-speed automatic transmission. The two- and four-drive are both available while the model returns around 25 mpg combined fuel economy.

With the capability of delivering 228 hp and 258 lb-ft combined with the precise steering and suspension, the model provides great driving dynamics but BMW will surely try to draw more from the refreshed 2019 BMW X1. So, we should expect some efficiency and performance improvements.

The plug-in hybrid version of this model is also expected sometime in the near future but not for the upcoming model year.

2019 BMW X1: Arrival, Price

The 2019 BMW X1 should uncover its secrets later in the year and go on sale in 2019. The current X1 starts from $33, 900 but BMW will make some price corrections and we should expect the price to go slightly up.

2020 Buick Envision: Changes, Design, Specs

The Chinese-built, mid-sized, five-seater Buick Envision is closing to the new model year after the 2019 refresh. While the model dropped the price for the recent mid-update it gained the updated styling and interior followed by the more powerful engine and the new 9-speed automatic transmission.

The next 2020 Buick Envision will continue to benefit from the mentioned upgrades and there won’t be major modifications before the next redesign probably for the 2022 version. The buyers should, however, expect new body color options and Buick might also make some of the advanced safety systems more accessible. The engine options and design will continue to the new model year in the same forms and the trim range should also stay in the same order.

2020 Buick Envision

2020 Buick Envision: Design

The 2020 Buick Envision will reprise the design theme of the current, refreshed version. The elegant, mid-size crossover gained the revised head and taillights for the recent refresh and the new grille version also adorns the front-end design. The waterfall design was discontinued in the favor of the sleeker chrome wing style.

The Envision has the sculpted rear-end design and profile lines and the sheet metal won’t change the structure and style before the next redesign. The new model year will, however, bring new color options and wheel design.

Interior, equipment:

The Envision changed just a few things inside the cabin for the recent refresh and the next version will stay in the same position as the current version regarding the cab style. The model will appear with the same control’s layout and material patterns. The trim range will likely stay as the current as well.

The Envision will deliver the new IntelliLink infotainment system with the 8-inch touchscreen and smartphone compatibility features in all grades. The standard equipment will also be the heated and power front seats, dual-zone climate control, a Wi-Fi hotspot and more. The new version could, however, broad the availability of some advanced safety systems for the new model year.

2020 Buick Envision

2020 Buick Envision: Powertrains

The 2020 Buick Envision will keep the current engine options and likely the same performance.

The base level powertrain will include a 2.5-liter non-turbo four-cylinder unit combined with the six-speed automatic transmission. The power and torque it delivers will remain at 197 hp and 192 pound-feet.

The more potent versions will have a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood. Buick updated the torque ratings of the engine for the recent mid-update and combines it also with the new 9-speed automatic transmission. This engine will provide 252 hp and torque of 295 pound-feet.

The front- and all-wheel drive options will again appear. The fuel economy will remain at around 25 combined with the base engine and FWD. The turbo-power version and AWD would return around 22 mpg combined.

2020 Buick Envision: Arrival, Price

While the refreshed 2019 version arrived with the lower prices the unchanged 2020 Buick Envision will likely cost slightly higher. The model will go on sale late in 2019.

2019 Audi Q7: Changes, Specs, Price

Audi’s family-friendly Q7 has recently got a more aggressive, coupe-like style counterpart which carries the Q8 badge. The three-row Q7 was the all-new for the 2017 model year and arrived almost unchanged for the 2018 version. There won’t be major changes for the 2019 Audi Q7 as well.

The model delivers premium interior quality and comfort and also offers cutting-edge tech and safety features. For the new model year, it should get a few standard equipment extras and more accessible crash avoidance techs. The engine options, exterior, and interior design will return familiar.

2019 Audi Q7

2019 Audi Q7: Styling

Despite the new Q8 model is based on the Q7 it applies the new styling theme with more aggressive cues while sits lower to the ground and has a wider track. The models share the same wheelbase.

The new styling on the Q8 gives us an idea about the direction Audi will follow with the future models and the Q7 will also apply some its aesthetics when it reaches the next update in about a year from now.

The 2019 Audi Q7 will in the meantime continue with the familiar styling and body shape. Buyers should expect new color options, wheel design and new accents in some packages. The model will, on the other hand, keep now the old-style grille version, and taillights.

Interior, Equipment:

Inside the cabin, the 2019 Q7 won’t also go with major changes. It will keep the current dash design and familiar layout. Audi will again offer diverse leather and texture combinations and well-equipped trims. More standard equipment should be available and wider availability of the active safety systems.

The base Q7 will include leather upholstery, a moonroof, keyless ignition, power front seats, automatic climate control, a 7-inch touchscreen interface, a rearview camera and more. It will also offer the heated rear seats and steering wheel. Upper grades will add features such as the four-zone climate control, digital cockpit, ventilated and massaging front seats, upgraded upholstery and more.

The model will also get the latest crash avoidance technology and it should become more accessible.

2019 Audi Q7

2019 Audi Q7: Engines, Performance

The aluminum-intensive Q7 is responsive and agile on the road and it will return with the same mechanics for the 2019 model year.

The barely-enough 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine will remain the base option. This engine produces 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. All Q7s are with the 8-speed automatic and Quattro all-wheel-drive system.

More adequate and capable is a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 and it now makes 333 hp and torque of 325 lb-ft. This engine will allow more of towing and passing power while will accelerate to 60 mph in around 5.7 seconds.

The model will also offer the air suspension while both powertrains should deliver around 21 mpg combined fuel economy.

2019 Audi Q7: Arrival, Price

The 2019 Audi Q7 will hit the market this fall. It should keep the price close to the current range with the starting point of around $50k.

2020 Subaru Forester: Specs, Design, Price

The compact Subaru Forester crossover SUV is one in the lineup of brand’s recently redesigned high-riding models. The 2019 Forester adopted the Subaru Global platform and also improved the interior comfort and utility. A more powerful engine and above average off-road capability should also be the selling point of the model but the newest Forester is also loaded with the latest tech and safety features.

The 2020 Subaru Forester will continue to benefit on the recent redesign and there won’t be major upgrades for several years. Subaru will revisit the equipment offer and add several new options like the new body colors and wheel design. The trim range will likely stay the same.

2020 Subaru Forester

2020 Subaru Forester: Design

To the second model year of its fifth-generation version, the 2020 Subaru Forester will enter with the minimal changes in all aspects. The thorough redesign last year brought structural and visual upgrades although the latter is not the large departure from the previous version.

The newest generation Forester is based on the Subaru Global platform which is also the foundation of other models like the Impreza, Crosstrek and Ascent.  The model is also set on the slightly longer wheelbase which measures 105.1 inches in contrast to 103.9 inches in the previous generation version. The benefit is the increased interior and cargo capacity.

The styling of the model is angular and with brand’s latest styling elements. The model has a brand’s signature grille style and lighting units with the C-shaped pattern. The 8.7 inches of the ground clearance and rugged sheet metal give it strong presence but the Forester isn’t surely among the prettiest crossovers in the market.

Interior, equipment:

The 2020 Forester will appear with the same design and largely unchanged equipment offer. The model will provide a very comfortable rear row and up to 76.1 cubes for the cargo space.

The model will also come with the latest tech features and upgrades. Every model will offer a modern infotainment system with the Apple Car Play and Android Auto support. The Eye Sigh driver assists package will also be the part of all versions. The package covers systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and emergency braking. The higher trim safety upgrades will include blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic, lane change assist and rear automatic braking.

2020 Subaru Forester

2020 Subaru Forester: Performance

The fifth generation Forester changed to the Global Subaru platform which provides more composed ride while significant ground clearance and standard all-wheel drive system ensure above the average off-road talent.

The model also discontinued the turbo-4 engine from the previous version in favor to the new, slightly more powerful 2.5-liter boxer engine. This engine employs higher compression, active valve control and direct injection. The 2020 Subaru Forester will also get this engine and power and torque from it of 182 hp and 176 lb-ft. In the combination with the engine and all-wheel traction will be the continuously variable transmission.

The Forester will also provide among the best fuel economy among the all-wheel-drive versions with the gasoline engine. The model should return 26 mpg city and 33 highways.

2020 Subaru Forester: Release, Price

The 2020 Subaru Forester will be available in late 2019. The base Forester will start at around $24, 000 and move to the mid-30, 000 in the best-equipped version.

The 2020 Hyundai Palisade is the new name in the brand’s portfolio that debuted at the 2018 LA Auto Show. However, the all-new model is essentially the replacement of the three-row Santa Fe XL. The smaller two-row Santa Fe Sport entered the fourth generation as the 2019 Santa Fe while the bigger, three-row Santa Fe was marketed as the 2019 Santa Fe XL. Now, the Hyundai Palisade is the new name and design for the successor of the Santa FE XL and the rival for the models like Subaru Ascent, Honda Pilot and Chevy Traverse.

Powering the model is the Genesis-sourced V-6 and there is an available HTRAC all-wheel-drive system.

2020 Hyundai Palisade

2020 Hyundai Palisade: Design

The all-new, mid-size 2020 Hyundai Palisade comes with the new bolder exterior design inspired by the latest crossovers in the brand’s range. The model has an eye-catchy grille with the more dynamic shape and mesh pattern. The sharp, split-style headlights also define the face of the new model while more sculpted lines and fenders also boost the visual impression. The Palisade has also the sculpted tailgate with the tall taillights. The model will ride on the 18-inch wheels as standard and the size will grow up to 20 inches in the top trims.

The replacement of the Santa Fe XL is also longer than the old-nameplate model for 3 inches while Hyundai stretched the wheelbase for 4 inches. The result is more space inside for the passengers and their cargo.

Interior, Equipment:

Inside the cabin, Hyundai maximizes the passenger space but provides also the latest tech and convenience features.

The model offers seats for up to eight and among the best-in-class rear seat legroom. Thanks to the longer body and 4 inches longer wheelbase, the Palisade provides more than 40 inches of the rear seat leg room and 31.4 inches of the leg room for the third-row passengers. 2020 Hyundai Palisade

2020 Hyundai Palisade: Powertrain

The 2020 Hyundai Palisade debuts with the single engine option. Like in the Santa Fe XL, the model gets the V-6 engine under the hood but the 3.8-liter Genesis-sourced displacement changes the 3.3-liter V-6 unit. While the V-6 makes 290 hp in the Santa FE XL, the new 3.8-liter V-6 provides 291 hp and torque of 262 pound-feet in the new Palisade.

The power goes through the 8-speed automatic transmission to the front wheel by default. The HTRAC all-wheel drive will provide better traction and performance optionally. The model offers also the new Snow traction mode and locking differential.

2020 Hyundai Palisade: Release, Price

The 2020 Hyundai Palisade will hit the market in summer 2019. The price range will appear closer to that date. Expect the entry price slightly higher than $32, 000 where the Santa Fe Xl starts.

2021 BMW X3 eDrive: News, Expectations, Release

The handsome and responsive-to-drive, mid-size, BMW X3 entered the third generation in late 2017 but BMW also defined the next step for this model. The electrification is among the priorities for the brands and BMW is working on the electric-powered X3 version. The new version of the popular X3 was previewed by the iX3 concept at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show and the launch date is expected sometime in 2020. The electric X3 will likely arrive as the part 2021 model year and unlike some expected to be marketed as the 2021 BMW X3 eDrive the model will go to the production under the i sub-brand and use the iX3 nomenclature.

The prototype of the future electric iX3 is already performing the out-door testing and it looks almost identical to the newest version of the conventionally-powered X3. The models will also share the most of the in-car technologies and interior design. The model will be sold globally and the production will take the place in China.

2021 BMW X3 eDrive

2021 BMW X3 eDrive: Design

The 2021 BMW iX3 will use the new-generation eDrive platform that actually debuted on its Concept version but won’t go on sale as the 2021 BMW X3 eDrive as some expected. This platform will also be the base of many future vehicles from the brand and BMW is also working on the new-generation solid batteries for the electric models. However, these batteries won’t be here in time for this model but we should expect very good driving range despite that.

On the other hand, the styling of the model won’t be the large departure from the conventional version form. The prototype version spotted recently is almost identical to the current X3 and just a few details make the difference. The model has a conventional kidney grille but for the production version, we should expect enclosed variant like on the Concept vehicle.

BMW will also use slightly different bumpers and what will also define this model are the side charging port and the model will also lack the exhaust tips.

Interior, Equipment:

Inside, the iX3 will also use the same layout as the recently all-new, conventionally-powered X3 but BMW will add a few unique details.

The model will come with the high-end materials and in-car technologies. It will use the new-design instrument panel and the latest connectivity tech. BMW is also working on the self-driving technologies and in the time of coming this model will also integrate the achievements in that area.

2021 BMW X3 eDrive

2021 BMW X3 eDrive: Powertrain

As for the powertrain of the 2021 BMW X3 eDrive, it is too early to have precise details but the model won’t depart far from what BMW presented on the concept model.

The model will integrate the fifth-generation eDrive system but remains to see what performance it will be capable of. The newest eDrive version has separate components as will use the high-capacity batteries. BMW promise, its new-gen solid-state batteries would do more than 400 miles per charge but the iX3 should hit the roads before the arrival of these batteries.  The mileage would likely be in 200-range.

The Concept version had a 270-horsepower electric motor in the combination with the 70-kWh battery. BMW claimed the range of this setup to 250 miles and fast charging to 80 percent in about 30 minutes. The production version should be close to these numbers as well.

2021 BMW X3 eDrive: Arrival, Price

The 2021 BMW X3 eDrive should make the premiere in late 2020. The price estimation is between $50 and $60k.

updates of one mid-update.

The rear will also display a new signature of tealights
while the rest should keep the same style and contours.

surely repeat the currently only available 3.6-liter V-6 engine. This unit is
also under the hood of the new XT6 and makes 310 hp and torque of 271
pound-feet.

The reports suggest, however, the introduction of the GM’s
new 9-speed automatic transmission. The big update could also be an addition of
the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine which is available in other markets.
The version of the engine in China makes 258 hp where the brand offers also the
mild-hybrid system but no information appeared suggesting this possibility for
the US market.

2020 Cadillac XT5: Release, Price

The 2020 Cadillac XT5 should make the premiere in the coming
months with the on-sale date later in the year. The new upgrades should also
lift the price slightly.

2020 BMW X5: New versions, Changes, Price

BMW’s first and highly successful X5 SUV entered the new generation for the 2019 model year. With the more than 2.2 million sold units during the nearly 20-year life cycle, the model has become very important for the brand and soon after the recent redesign we should expect new upgrades of the model.

BMW will bring the new M version but will also go with the new plug-in hybrid system. The brand already announced that the plug-in hybrid version of the X5 model. The new system should provide improved range and high-performance ratings. The 2020 BMW X5 should also bring the M version but BMW is still short on details. The plug-in version could also wait for the 2021 model year introduction.

2020 BMW X5

2020 BMW X5: Powertrains

The 2020 BMW X5 will return with currently available single-turbo V-6 and twin-turbo V-8 engines. The 8-speed automatic transmission will also be shared across the powertrain range as well as the all-wheel drive.

A 3.0-liter inline-six turbo engine will sit under the hood of the xDrive40i version. The engine will pump 340 hp and torque of 330 lb-ft. With that, this version will be able to hit 60 mph in around 5.5 seconds.

A 4.4-twin-turbo V-8 in the XDrive50i version will down the 60-mph run to 4.6 seconds. It will be possible thanks to the output of 456 hp and torque of 479 pound-feet.

As for the new plug-in hybrid version, if it arrives as the 2020 model, the system will combine the 3.0-liter inline-6 combustion engine and the electric motor. The part of the system will also be the 8-speed automatic transmission and xDrive all-wheel drive. The high-voltage lithium-ion battery will also have its place in the setup in the underbody area. The new hybrid version should double the electric range of the previous version and provide the total mileage close to 50 miles.

The M version should boost the performance with the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 to somewhere around 600 hp and 553 pound-feet of torque.

2020 BMW X5

2020 BMW X5: Design

The styling of the 2020 BMW X5 and the new versions won’t change much from the form of the recently redesigned X5.

The X5 changed the platform and dimension for the new generation. The model also evolved the brand’s signature styling with the more sculpted and angular cues and also added the larger version grille. The LED headlights are available on all versions and also have a new design.

The 2020 version will bring new color options and the M model will add sportier elements combined with the 21-inch wheels. The performance version will also integrate the quad exhaust setup.

Interior, Equipment:

2020 Cadillac Escalade: Redesign, More powertrain options, Arrival

After the arrival of the attractive and turbocharged small luxury SUV, the XT4, Cadillac was recently in the news when the spy photos of brand’s new three-row high-riding model appeared. The new model will likely get the XT6 badge and position in the mid-size class. But the brand is simultaneously working on the new generation of the large Escalade model as well.

No spy photos of the redesigned Escalade appeared yet but some reports reveal some details about what we should expect. The model will likely be ready for sale in late 2019 or early 2020. So, it will likely arrive as the 2020 Cadillac Escalade. Further details reveal possible three powertrain options including the plug-in hybrid version. The style will likely draw some inspiration from the Escala Concept while the latest model from the brand should give us insight about the technology we should expect.

2020 Cadillac Escalade

2020 Cadillac Escalade: Three powertrain options

If the latest reports prove to be true in the future, the 2020 Cadillac Escalade should switch from the current single V-8 engine to three powertrain options where the plug-in hybrid version is also possible.

No clear details about options available yet, but since the new Silverado and Sierra trucks will offer the 6.2-liter V-8 engine, the Escalade will likely keep this engine in the equipment list well. The current version of this engine makes 420 hp and 460 pound-feet of torque. However, the engine will surely make some performance and efficiency upgrades.

What could, however, be the great news is the reports about the new twin-turbo V-8 engine which should also arrive with the new-gen version. We are speaking about the 4.2-liter bi-turbo V-8 from the CT6 model. The engine if comes as an option and will provide over 400 hp while the version in the CT6 V-Sport can deliver 550 hp and torque of 627 pound-feet. In any case, both engines will be in the pair with the 10-speed automatic transmission. The two- and all-wheel drive options will also be in the game.

However, the new Escalade could also come with the plug-in hybrid option but that could wait for the next model year after the redesign. The plug-in hybrid version would likely be some form of the plug-in hybrid powertrain from the CT6. This system integrates the pair of electric motors and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

The new Escalade should also provide a more comfortable ride thanks to the new independent rear suspension setup.

2020 Cadillac Escalade

2020 Cadillac Escalade: Design, Interior

We don’t have many details about the design of the new 2020 Cadillac Escalade. The model is expected to stay on the truck-based platform while should adopt the design language from the Escala Concept.

The Concept model also influenced the look of the new XT4 and applied to the boxy Escalade it should lead to more elegant and sleeker looks as it would be possible for the model’s size and shape. The new grille version and headlights similar to the units on the new Cadillacs and sleeker profile should contribute to that. No details about the changes in size.

The interior should also come with the notable changes. Cadillac will use high-quality materials and attractive textures while will also offer the latest tech and safety features.

The new dash will ingrate the larger center screen interface and the latest features from this area. The advanced safety systems will also be the part of the deal and expect them from the base version of course.

2020 Cadillac Escalade: Arrival, Price

The 2020 Cadillac Escalade will likely wait for the release date in late 2019. The price will likely close to $80, 000 from the current base $75, 195.
