More details will emerge closer to the launch date.

2020 BMW X1

2020 BMW X1: Refreshed look

The new 2020 BMW X1 will bring some visual refreshments and there won’t be radical changes. The prototype version has the swirly camo on the sections of the front and rear sides while the profile remains undisguised.

Obviously, the usual mid-update changes will appear with the new version. The model will gain the new headlights and taillights but both seem to have the similar shape while changes the internal pattern.

The kidney grille version also changes in line with the most recent high-riding models in the range and the front bumper is also the part of the refresh. The rear bumper will also get a slightly restyled form but overall BMW’s first crossover in the range won’t change the styling radically.

The 10.7-kWh battery pack provides the range around 37 miles in this version. Some sort of this setup should also find the way to the new markets with the arrival of the next version or later.

However, the truck-based Trailblazer version is still available in the global markets.

The stylish, new Balzer model will continue to the next model year with the new color options and the new special treatment exterior package is also the possibility. The model has an aggressive, sculpted body design and the new front fascia among the bowtie brand’s SUVs.

The compact Subaru Forester crossover SUV is one in the lineup of brand’s recently redesigned high-riding models. The 2019 Forester adopted the Subaru Global platform and also improved the interior comfort and utility. A more powerful engine and above average off-road capability should also be the selling point of the model but the newest Forester is also loaded with the latest tech and safety features.

The 2020 Subaru Forester will continue to benefit on the recent redesign and there won’t be major upgrades for several years. Subaru will revisit the equipment offer and add several new options like the new body colors and wheel design. The trim range will likely stay the same.

2020 Subaru Forester

2020 Subaru Forester: Design

To the second model year of its fifth-generation version, the 2020 Subaru Forester will enter with the minimal changes in all aspects. The thorough redesign last year brought structural and visual upgrades although the latter is not the large departure from the previous version.

The newest generation Forester is based on the Subaru Global platform which is also the foundation of other models like the Impreza, Crosstrek and Ascent.  The model is also set on the slightly longer wheelbase which measures 105.1 inches in contrast to 103.9 inches in the previous generation version. The benefit is the increased interior and cargo capacity.

The styling of the model is angular and with brand’s latest styling elements. The model has a brand’s signature grille style and lighting units with the C-shaped pattern. The 8.7 inches of the ground clearance and rugged sheet metal give it strong presence but the Forester isn’t surely among the prettiest crossovers in the market.

Interior, equipment:

The 2020 Forester will appear with the same design and largely unchanged equipment offer. The model will provide a very comfortable rear row and up to 76.1 cubes for the cargo space.

The model will also come with the latest tech features and upgrades. Every model will offer a modern infotainment system with the Apple Car Play and Android Auto support. This engine employs higher compression, active valve control and direct injection. The 2020 Subaru Forester will also get this engine and power and torque from it of 182 hp and 176 lb-ft. In the combination with the engine and all-wheel traction will be the continuously variable transmission.

2020 Subaru Forester: Release, Price

2020 Genesis GV80: News, Design, Release

Hyundai’s upmarket division Genesis has had the focus on the
sedan models so far but with the SUV sells booming the brand is now changing
the course in that direction. The Genesis GV80 Concept presented at the 2017
New York Auto Show hinted the arrival of the first SUV model from the brand and
the upcoming mid-size GV80 was spotted in the form which seems production
ready. The model should hit the market as the 2020 Genesis GV80 and go against
the established names in the industry like the BMW X5, Audi Q7, Mercedes GLE,
etc. The reports indicate also that Genesis has another smaller GV70 SUV in the
plan to compete in the segment with the BMW X3.

The brand’s new model should borrow sharp styling cues from the mentioned concept model while inside the cockpit we should expect a similar design as in the brand’s sedans.  The engine range should also mimic the powertrain options in the sedan lineup with the possible introduction of the new V-6 unit.

2020 Genesis GV80

2020 Genesis GV80: Design

The 2020 Genesis GV80 is still the unsolved mystery as
Geneses hides details about the model while we can draw some cues from the
prototype version.

First of all, it’s not known yet what platform the new
Genesis SUV will use. Judging by the spy photos the model is likely based on
the rear-wheel-drive architecture of the G80 sedan. Some sources suggest also
the stretched Santa Fe’s platform or the unit from the new Palisade model. Still,
the first scenario seems like the most probable.

On the other hand, the styling of the model seems to have
inhered the sharp design cues from the Concept version. The mesh grille seems
to have the similar design as on the GV80 Concept but slightly redefined
proportions. The horizontal oriented headlights follow also the pattern form
the concept car but with the enlarged dimensions and more conventional design.

Interior, equipment:

Inside the cabin, the mid-size Genesis SUV should use
similar design cues as the brand’s newest sedans. Still, the model will get a
unique steering wheel and reports claim also the new controllers for the
model.

The GV80 will, of course, employ the high-quality materials combined with contrasting surfaces and trim details. The latest tech will be used and advanced safety systems like adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind spot monitors, etc.

2020 Genesis GV80

2020 Genesis GV80: Powertrains

As for the engine options, the new 3.6-liter V-6 could be in
the progress and arrive with the 2020 Genesis GV80. The model will offer both
rear-drive and four-wheel drive option and automatic transmission.

A 3.3-liter turbocharged V-6 engine used in the G80 should
also be the option. This engine makes 365 hp and torque of 376 lb-ft in the
sedan model. Other options from the sedan a 3.8-liter V6 and potent 420 hp
5.0-liter V-8 could also be the part of the deal. The plug-in hybrid version
should appear at some point.

2020 Genesis GV80: Release, Price

The 2020 Genesis GV80 should reach the showroom late in the
year. Closer to the launch date more details will surface as well as the price.
The model should start in the upper $60,000-range.

2020 Ford Explorer: Redesign, Engines, Arrival

Ford is in the process of readying the new-generation version of the popular, mid-size Explorer crossover. The heavily camouflaged prototype models have already been spotted on the roads and Ford also teased the audience with the police interceptor version with the hybrid bits.

We still missing precise details and full picture about the new version Explorer but many details have already found the way to the public. The new 2020 Ford Explorer will change the platform and offer several powertrain options including the hybrid version and the sporty ST variant. The model will continue to offer seven or eight seating positions and add the latest tech and safety equipment.

2020 Ford Explorer

2020 Ford Explorer: Platform, Design

It’s not the secret that the next 2020 Ford Explorer will switch to the new platform as the part of the full redesign. The Explorer moved from the body-on-frame structure to the unibody design with the traverse engine setup in 2011. The next version will, however, make the new transition to the rear-wheel-drive-based, longitudinal-engine-layout, unibody platform which is shared with the Lincoln Aviator.

The new platform will come with the sleek body style but the shape will stay familiar as well as the profile silhouette. The model will have a strong character line on the side panels and adopt the new front-end design. The civilian version will have the same LED headlights as the Police Interceptor and the front fascia will introduce the new trapezoidal grille version. The front bumper area will have defined edges and style similar to the Land Rover family SUVs.

Interior, equipment:

No many details about the interior but the new Explorer will boost the interior comfort and space and offer also the seven-seat capacity. The model will use the space more efficiently and upgraded materials and tech features.

The model will have a large tablet-style center display with the Sync3 infotainment platform. The standard will also be smartphone compatibility features and available wi-fi capability, wireless charging, premium sound system, etc.
