2020 BMW X6: Redesign, News, Specs, Arrival

BMW is constantly working on its growing SUV range and has again been caught testing the new-generation, 2020 BMW X6. The redesign of the coupe-like styled, mid-size SUV follows naturally the recent makeover of the conventionally shaped X5 and again two models will share most nuts and bolts.

The third-generation X6 has been testing on the roads for a while and we saw the base version and the M body kit version. What we should expect is the all-new X6 based on the new platform and with the mechanics similar to the closest relative X5. The interior design and available tech will also borrow heavily from the X5 while the new more aggressive exterior will also adapt the cues from the X4 model.

2020 BMW X6

2020 BMW X6: Design

The redesigned 2020 BMW X6 isn’t yet ready to ditch the camo but we can detect the direction the new version follows. The full-body camo can’t hide model’s more muscular shape and the cues from both the latest X4 and X5.

The front section of the model will get the new and enlarged version of the kidney grille and in the combination with the new headlights with the similar design pattern as on the latest BMWs. The laser headlights with the X-shape elements will also go to the production. The model will also get the redesigned rear end with the cues from the X4 model.

The BMW X6 M version will boost the performance and the look with the M body kit and equipment. The front fascia of this version will use the sportier front bumper with larger air intakes and more sculpted low section. The large, high-performance wheels, massive Brembo brakes and quad exhaust setup will also boost the presence of the M version.

The new X6 will, more importantly, switch to the new CLAR platform which should improve the drive, structural rigidly and provide reduced weight. Like the X5 model, the coupe variant could stretch the length and width as well.

Interior, equipment:

The interior of the new X6 hasn’t yet been in focus of the spy camera but the cabin design shouldn’t stray far from what we have in the new X5. The similar dash design and layout will appear in the X6 as well as the high-tech features from the popular conventionally shaped, mid-size SUV.

The new X6 will offer the digital instrument panel and the driver-focused center cluster with BMW’s newest infotainment platform. The coupe-like SUV will lack some of the rear seat comforts as it prioritizes style but will include all the electronic driver aids we can find in the brand’s new models.

2020 BMW X6

2020 BMW X6: Powertrains

As for the engine options, the new 2020 BMW X6 should go with the similar solutions as the recently redesigned X5.

The powertrain range should start with the 3.0-liter inline-6 turbo with 335 horses and 330 lb-ft of torque. Following the xDrive40i version should be an xDrive50i model with the 4.4-liter turbo V-8 with the power around 456 hp and torque reaching 479 lb-ft of torque.

The X6 M version should rely on the 4.4-liter bi-turbo V-8 and get from it around 600 hp and torque of 553 lb-ft. The plug-in hybrid version should also appear later in the life cycle.

2020 BMW X6: Release, Price

The redesigned 2020 BMW X6 is expected late next year. The model will be slightly more expensive than the version it replaces. But the real price and specs will appear after the debut.

2020 Mercedes-Benz G-Class: Design, Specs, Price

The iconic, off-road capable Mercedes G-Class has finally

2020 Mercedes-Benz G-Class

2020 Mercedes-Benz G-Class: Design

Mercedes redesigned the G-Wagen model from the ground up but hasn’t gambled with the look of the model. The new generation version remains the tall, slab-sided SUV but the model has more elegant lines and bears the new grille version in the combination with the new headlights.

More importantly, the body-on-frame SUV gained some
structural upgrades and while 154 pounds lighter the model has a 34 percent
stiffer frame.  With the new
double-wishbone, independent suspension replaced the solid front axle the model
provides also better on-road comfort while won’t lack the off-road capacity.

For the 2020 Mercedes-Benz G-Class version, Mercedes will
likely offer new body shades and new special edition version. There won’t be significant
changes after the recent redesign.

Interior, Equipment:

Inside the cabin, the boxy SUV is a huge step forward in
both comforts and modern tech availability. The new generation G-Glass is both
longer and wider and gained 5.9 inches of additional rear seat legroom.

Mercedes equipped also the military-DNA SUV with the premium
comfort and tech features and the next version won’t bring many new details in
that regard.

The off-road adventures and the everyday ride will be easier thanks to the available leather upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control, multi-contour seats with massage capability, a Burmester premium sound system etc. The model will also get a standard infotainment system with a 12.4-inch touchscreen and optional digital gauge cluster. There will also be the modern safety systems like the lane keeping control, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, park assist, etc.

2020 Mercedes-Benz G-Class

2020 Mercedes-Benz G-Class: Performance

For the power delivery, the 2020 Mercedes-Benz G-Class will
employ two bi-turbo V-8 engines. The base 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine will
provide 416 horsepower and torque of 450 lb-ft. Teamed with the 9-speed
automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, this version will hit 60 mph in
5.8 seconds.

The AMG G63 version will boost the performance of the V-8
engine to 577 hp and peak torque of 627 lb-ft. With that potential under the
hood, this version will reduce the 60mph-run to 4.4 seconds.

With the independent front suspension, electric power
steering and available adaptive damping, the G-Class SUV will also ride well on
the paved roads. For the off-road adventure, the model will have the help of
the 4Matic all-wheel drive with low-range gearing and three locking
differentials. Different driving modes and impressive ride height combined with
high approach and departure angles will also provide skills for the hardcore
off-roading.

2020 Mercedes-Benz G-Class: Arrival, Price

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz G-Class will hit the market in late
2019. The price will start again at around $125, 000.

Kia used the 2018 Los Angeles Show to pull the wraps off the all-new Soul model. The redesigned compact hatchback starts the third generation as the 2020 Kia Soul. Kia still hides some specs like the mileage but revealed also some of the most important facts about the new Soul.

The new version ditches some trim options but will still offer the six levels of customization. The model again comes in EV version but remains with the front-wheel drive only. The better performance and handling will also arrive with the new-gen Soul but Kia improved also the passenger and cargo space. The model won’t also lack the modern tech and safety features and will also get attention with the distinctive and boxy style.

2020 Kia Soul

2020 Kia Soul: Design

The new 2020 Kia Soul made the transition to the third generation on the new strengthened platform and with the redefined dimensions. The new Soul has 165.2 inches from bumper to bumper which is 2.5 inches more than on the previous generation. With the longer body goes also the 1.2-inch longer wheelbase which opens more interior comfort and cargo space.

From the visual perspective, the new Soul remains similarly shaped and instantly recognizable. However, the new styling elements and several tricks make it more appealing to the eye. The model sports the new, slim headlights and upper grille while also comes with the redesigned front bumper area. The front bumper has a bit of the sports flair while the EV version has fewer openings in that area and also comes on the unique five-spoke wheels.

The roof also adds to the appearance with the floating style and the rear has also the new, tall taillights design.

Interior, Equipment:

Inside the cabin, the new Soul boosts the cargo space for addition 5 cubes which now measures 23.8 cubic feet with the all seats up. The model keeps other interior dimensions largely unchanged.

The redesigned hatch also has the nice dash design with the center screen sized up to 10.25 inches and with Apple Car Play and Android Auto features. Kia will also offer the features like the wireless charging, automatic climate, 640 Wats sound system with 10 speakers, etc. The model will also provide the full set of the active safety systems. Watching and preventing collisions will be automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, lane keep control, adaptive cruise control, parking sensors and blind spot monitoring.

The all-new Soul will arrive in six trim levels. Kia promised LX, S, X-Line, GT-Line, EX, and EX Designer Collection options including also the EV variant. Full specs of the trims will appear closer to the market launch.

2020 Kia Soul

2020 Kia Soul: Performance

On the performance front, the new 2020 Kia Soul promises better driving characteristics thanks to the new, more rigid platform and improved suspension system. The model now relies on the fully independent rear suspension.

The propulsion for the non-electric version will provide inline-4 and turbocharged four-cylinder engines. The base power unit is a 2.0-liter inline-4 with the power and torque ratings at 147 hp and 132 pound-feet. This engine Kia will offer either 6-speed manual transmission or CVT. The turbo version also returns with the new-gen Soul. A 1.6-liter turbo-4 unit boosts the performance to 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. The GT-Line version will combine this engine with the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. No all-wheel drive for the redesigned Soul as some reports claimed earlier.

The electric Soul version comes with the 64-kWh lithium-ion battery pack which provides also the power for the Hyundai Kona EV and Kia Niro EV. The battery feeds the electric motor mounted on the front axle. The system makes 201 hp and torque of 291 pound-feet.

Kia says that battery needs 75 minutes for the 80 percent recharge with the fast-charging unit. The range of 100 miles should take 30 minutes of recharging. Kia hasn’t, however, revealed the mileage of the new EV version. The same battery provides 239 miles in the Niro EV.

2020 Kia Soul: Arrival, Price

The new 2020 Kia Soul will have the market launch in the middle of the next year. Kia will likely keep the full specs and equipment list in the dark until the market debut. The price will also appear closer to the on-sale date. The current version starts from $14, 490.

2020 Hyundai Palisade: Design, Specs, Release

The 2020 Hyundai Palisade is the new name in the brand’s portfolio that debuted at the 2018 LA Auto Show. However, the all-new model is essentially the replacement of the three-row Santa Fe XL. The smaller two-row Santa Fe Sport entered the fourth generation as the 2019 Santa Fe while the bigger, three-row Santa Fe was marketed as the 2019 Santa Fe XL. Now, the Hyundai Palisade is the new name and design for the successor of the Santa FE XL and the rival for the models like Subaru Ascent, Honda Pilot and Chevy Traverse.

The mid-size Palisade comes with the new, bold exterior design and spacious and well-equipped interior. The family-friendly crossover SUV offers the latest technologies and convenience features one would expect in this kind of vehicle nowadays. Powering the model is the Genesis-sourced V-6 and there is an available HTRAC all-wheel-drive system.

2020 Hyundai Palisade

2020 Hyundai Palisade: Design

The all-new, mid-size 2020 Hyundai Palisade comes with the new bolder exterior design inspired by the latest crossovers in the brand’s range. The model has an eye-catchy grille with the more dynamic shape and mesh pattern. The sharp, split-style headlights also define the face of the new model while more sculpted lines and fenders also boost the visual impression. The Palisade has also the sculpted tailgate with the tall taillights. The model will ride on the 18-inch wheels as standard and the size will grow up to 20 inches in the top trims.

The replacement of the Santa Fe XL is also longer than the old-nameplate model for 3 inches while Hyundai stretched the wheelbase for 4 inches. The result is more space inside for the passengers and their cargo.

Interior, Equipment:

Inside the cabin, Hyundai maximizes the passenger space but provides also the latest tech and convenience features.

The model offers seats for up to eight and among the best-in-class rear seat legroom. Thanks to the longer body and 4 inches longer wheelbase, the Palisade provides more than 40 inches of the rear seat leg room and 31.4 inches of the leg room for the third-row passengers. 2020 Hyundai Palisade

2020 Hyundai Palisade: Powertrain

The 2020 Hyundai Palisade debuts with the single engine option. Like in the Santa Fe XL, the model gets the V-6 engine under the hood but the 3.8-liter Genesis-sourced displacement changes the 3.3-liter V-6 unit. While the V-6 makes 290 hp in the Santa FE XL, the new 3.8-liter V-6 provides 291 hp and torque of 262 pound-feet in the new Palisade.

The power goes through the 8-speed automatic transmission to the front wheel by default. The HTRAC all-wheel drive will provide better traction and performance optionally. The model offers also the new Snow traction mode and locking differential.

2020 Hyundai Palisade: Release, Price

2020 Cadillac Escalade: Redesign, More powertrain options, Arrival

After the arrival of the attractive and turbocharged small luxury SUV, the XT4, Cadillac was recently in the news when the spy photos of brand’s new three-row high-riding model appeared. The new model will likely get the XT6 badge and position in the mid-size class. But the brand is simultaneously working on the new generation of the large Escalade model as well.

No spy photos of the redesigned Escalade appeared yet but some reports reveal some details about what we should expect. The model will likely be ready for sale in late 2019 or early 2020. So, it will likely arrive as the 2020 Cadillac Escalade. Further details reveal possible three powertrain options including the plug-in hybrid version. The style will likely draw some inspiration from the Escala Concept while the latest model from the brand should give us insight about the technology we should expect.

2020 Cadillac Escalade

2020 Cadillac Escalade: Three powertrain options

If the latest reports prove to be true in the future, the 2020 Cadillac Escalade should switch from the current single V-8 engine to three powertrain options where the plug-in hybrid version is also possible.

No clear details about options available yet, but since the new Silverado and Sierra trucks will offer the 6.2-liter V-8 engine, the Escalade will likely keep this engine in the equipment list well. The current version of this engine makes 420 hp and 460 pound-feet of torque. However, the engine will surely make some performance and efficiency upgrades.

What could, however, be the great news is the reports about the new twin-turbo V-8 engine which should also arrive with the new-gen version. We are speaking about the 4.2-liter bi-turbo V-8 from the CT6 model. The engine if comes as an option and will provide over 400 hp while the version in the CT6 V-Sport can deliver 550 hp and torque of 627 pound-feet. In any case, both engines will be in the pair with the 10-speed automatic transmission. The two- and all-wheel drive options will also be in the game.

However, the new Escalade could also come with the plug-in hybrid option but that could wait for the next model year after the redesign. The plug-in hybrid version would likely be some form of the plug-in hybrid powertrain from the CT6. This system integrates the pair of electric motors and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

The new Escalade should also provide a more comfortable ride thanks to the new independent rear suspension setup.

2020 Cadillac Escalade

2020 Cadillac Escalade: Design, Interior

We don’t have many details about the design of the new 2020 Cadillac Escalade. The model is expected to stay on the truck-based platform while should adopt the design language from the Escala Concept.

The Concept model also influenced the look of the new XT4 and applied to the boxy Escalade it should lead to more elegant and sleeker looks as it would be possible for the model’s size and shape. The new grille version and headlights similar to the units on the new Cadillacs and sleeker profile should contribute to that. No details about the changes in size.

The interior should also come with the notable changes. Cadillac will use high-quality materials and attractive textures while will also offer the latest tech and safety features.

The new dash will ingrate the larger center screen interface and the latest features from this area. The advanced safety systems will also be the part of the deal and expect them from the base version of course.

2020 Cadillac Escalade: Arrival, Price

The 2020 Cadillac Escalade will likely wait for the release date in late 2019. The price will likely close to $80, 000 from the current base $75, 195.

2020 Ford Escape: Redesign, Styling, Options, Release

The Blue Oval Brand is working on the brand-new Ford Escape
and the model should hit the roads as the 2020 version. The current generation
Escape has been around since 2013 and the all-new model will bring modern
upgrades to keep model competitive in the fastest-growing, compact crossover
SUV segment.

The new 2020 Ford Escape will come on the new platform and with the new Focus-inspired styling. The fourth-generation Escape should return the hybrid powertrain but this time the plug-in hybrid version while will offer turbocharged engines in the conventionally powered variants. The model will also get more modern interior and the production should continue in Louisville, Kentucky.

2020 Ford Escape

2020 Ford Escape: Design

The prototype version of the new generation 2020 Ford Escape
was seen while testing and it seems that the new compact crossover SUV hides
significant styling changes under the camo.

As the latest reports suggest and judging by the spy photos,
the newest Escape should apply the similar styling language as the recent Focus
which isn’t available in the US. The upcoming Escape seems to have a more
pronounced nose with the new grille and headlights. The grille uses the mesh
pattern instead of the current crossbar style and the headlights appear also to
have sharper shape. The model has also the new vertically oriented driving
lights.

The overall shape of the Escape looks familiar but with
smoother body lines. The camouflage can’t also hide the beltline which seems
rising faster toward the C pillar.

The rear should also borrow styling cues from the new Focus.
The new taillights and sculpted tailgate will be in the combination with the
new rear bumper.

On the top of that, Ford will use the new platform for the
2020 Escape. The model will be based on the small car architecture which
underpins the latest Fiesta. The new Escape seems also to have a slightly
larger body.

Interior, equipment:

No details or spy photos of model’s interior yet. The larger body will provide an increase in the passenger and cargo space but we shouldn’t expect plenty of new room. Ford will offer the revised materials and trims combined with the latest infotainment system and advanced safety gear.

2020 Ford Escape

2020 Ford Escape: Powertrains

With the new platform and styling, the 2020 Ford Escape will
also introduce the upgraded powertrains but most details are still unknown.

As the latest reports suggest, the new Escape will come with
the 1.5-liter turbocharged engines as standard. This displacement used in the
new Focus comes in either 140 and 180 hp configurations. The high-performance
version will use a turbocharged 2.0-liter unit.

Ford will mix the engines with the 8-speed automatic
transmission. Both front- and all-wheel drive will be available.

The new Escape should also appear with the plug-in hybrid
powertrain sometime in the life cycle. Ford promised 24 hybrid and plug-in
hybrid models in next few years.

2020 Ford Escape: Release, Price

The 2020 Ford Escape will likely debut in the first half of
the year and go on sale later in the year. Closer to the market launch we will
also know the price of the redesigned model.

2020 Audi Q3: News, RS Q3, Specs, Release

Audi’s subcompact Q3 crossover SUV gets attention with the
upmarket styling, extreme practicality and comfort, advanced technology and
punchy performance. A recently redesigned model goes against the big brands and
popular models including the BMW X1, Mercedes GLA, Jaguar E-Pace and Volvo
XC40.

The second-generation Q3 arrived on the new platform and
larger with the standard Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The engine range in
the US makes a 2.0L turbo available in two states of tune while in other markets
buyers can also have the TDI options and more TFSI versions.

The 2020 Audi Q3 won’t come with many new details but the big news is the new high-performance RS Q3 version. The new model will boost the style and performance of the model to the new levels and will be an alternative for the high-spec rivals.

2020 Audi Q3

2020 Audi Q3: Design

Audi redesigned the subcompact Q3 around the ubiquitous MQB
platform and made it larger as well. The new platform provides higher
powertrain flexibility, technology upgrades and performance while longer
wheelbase, length and wider track mean more space and comfort for the
passengers and cargo.

The styling of the model is modern and balanced with the new
signature elements. The octagonal grille borrows the inspiration from the
range-topping Q8 model and modern-design headlights get also the attention. A
defined charter line and subtly sculpted fenders also contribute to the look of
the model. The rear has also defined lines and shapers with the nicely fitted
bumper and attractive headlights.

The 2020 Audi Q3 will keep the things same regarding the
styling but the brand will add sportier and more aggressively styled RS Q3
version. The high-performance Q3 will boost the aerodynamics with the new
diffuser and much larger air intakes will also impact the styling and
performance. The wider track and lower ride height will also serve to better
performance and stability and form more aggressive appearance. The model will
also use unique wheels with the upgraded brakes peeking behind the spokes. The
rear spoiler and oval exhaust tips will also define the RS Q3.

Interior, equipment:

With the 3.0 inch longer wheelbase and 4.0 inches more in
overall lengths the new-generation Q3 provides more comfort and cargo room. The
cargo volume grew to 54 cubes with the rear seats stowed and to 16.7 cubes with
the functional rear row. The model provides also high-comfort and top-notch
tech features.

The subcompact crossover will offer leather and non-lather
upholstery, dual zone climate control, heated steering wheel, a sunroof and
many other luxury extras. The latest infotainment system with the smartphone
support and large 10.1-inch center screen will also be in the offer as well and
digitalized 10.3-inch instrument cluster.

The safety aspect will also employ the latest technologies including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking with the pedestrian and cyclist detection, surround vision and parking assist.

2020 Audi Q3

2020 Audi Q3: Performance

Audi limited the range of the engine options in the US to
the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine but it comes in two states of
tune. The base 2020 Audi Q3 will make 184 hp and torque of 236 lb-ft. An
upgrade of the engine will provide 228 hp and torque of 258 lb-ft.

The models will use an 8-speed automatic transmission and
Quattro all-wheel-drive system. Audi has no plans to offer a front-wheel drive
version as sad earlier.

The high-performance RS Q3 version will upgrade the
suspension and braking system while the engine should come from the RS 3. In
that application, a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-5 unit makes 400 hp and
torque of 354 pound-feet. With that, the RS Q3 should put the 60-mph run under
5 seconds.

2020 Audi Q3: Release, Price

The 2020 Audi Q3 will hit the market late in the year with
the RS Q3 launch in 2020. The price should again start around $36, 000.

2020 Toyota Highlander: Redesign, Changes, Arrival

Toyota’s reliable, mid-size, three-row Highlander crossover
SUV is faced now with many updated, redesigned or newly-introduced models. Ford
revealed recently the heavily-improved Explorer and the Highlander has also the
updated Honda Pilot and Buick Encore in the sight but also the newcomers such
as the Kia Telluride, Subaru Ascent and Hyundai Palisade. The all-new
Highlander arrived for 2014 and received the mid-update for the 2017 version.
Toyota has, however, been caught testing the new-generation 2020 Toyota
Highlander recently.

Details about the fifth-generation Highlander are still scarce but the three-row family hauler should grow in size and move on the new platform. The styling should also see the revisions in accordance to brand’s latest design language while model should also come with the heavily reworked interior and newest tech, comfort and safety features. The powertrain range should again include the gasoline and electrified versions.

2020 Toyota Highlander

2020 Toyota Highlander: Design, Platform

Toyota is prepping the new 2020 Toyota Highlander and like
many of its recent models, the version will be based on the stretched version
of the TNGA modular platform which forms also the base of the models like the
CH-R, Avalon, Camry, RAV4, etc. With the Toyota Global New architecture, the
Highlander should provide better performance and flexibility plus weigh less
while the prototype versions suggest also the enlarged dimensions.

Form the visual point of view, it seems that the test
version hides the styling similar to what we can see on recently all-new RAV4.
The styling cues we saw initially on the FT-AC concept model should be applied
to the new Highlander as well. That should mean hexagonal grille design
combined with swept-back headlights and dynamic front bumper style.

The profile seems also to be coming with the trapezoidal
shaped fender flares and cleaner lines. The rear will also receive the new
taillights and resculpted tailgate and rear bumper.

Interior, Equipment:

Inside the cabin, we should expect more passenger and cargo
space as the prototype version seem to have stretched wheelbase and length. The
current Highlander provides max cargo capacity of 84 cubes and just 14 cubic
feet with the all seats functional.

The new Highlander will also arrive with the new interior
design and upgraded materials and textures. The model should use similar dash
elements placement as the RAV4 with the center screen sitting atop the middle
of the dash and new air vents.

The new generation version will also adopt the latest Entune infotainment platform with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The safety will also be updated to the latest Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite with the sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, etc.

2020 Toyota Highlander

2020 Toyota Highlander: Powertrain

No details have leaked yet about the powertrain Toyota will
use in the new generation 2020 Toyota Highlander.

The range should include the four-cylinder and V-6 gasoline
units like in the current version and the electrified option as well. The
possible candidates should be the units from the mid-size Camry sedan. A
2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with power around 200 hp and the V-6 unit with
the potential around 300 hp. Both engines should come in the combination with
the 8-speed automatic transmission.

The hybrid could combine updated 3.5-liter V-6 engine with
the battery-powered electric motor for a slightly improved total output.

2020 Toyota Highlander: Arrival, Price

The new 2020 Toyota Highlander should debut in the second
half of 2019. The price will likely see a modest increase across the range.

2020 Kia Sorento: Design, Specs, Equipment, Price

The mid-size, three-row Kia Sorento is a good performer on all fronts. The model has great road manners and a powerful engine option. The style and interior are also its strong sides and all trims come packed with the desirable equipment.  This well-rounded mid-sizer received the mid-cycle upgrade for the 2019 model and the next 2020 Kia Sorento will not bring notable upgrades.

The model will again appear with the standard three-row seats, familiar engine options and in five well-equipped trims. Kia is also preparing the new three-row model but in the full-size form for the 2020 model year and the model will hit the market as the Kia Telluride.

Interior, equipment:

Inside the cabin, the family-friendly Sorento comes with the nice materials and solid build quality. The controls also have a good placement and thanks to the recent interventions in the cabin, the next Sorento will return in the same form.

The model will have standard three rows of seats. The base Sorento L will include the modern 7-inch infotainment system with the smartphone compatibility but will lack more luxury touches. The next LX version will add automatic climate control, V-6 engine option, blind spot monitoring, etc.

Upgrading to the EX version will bring a heated front seat, leather upholstery, power tailgate, an 8-inch touchscreen option, more active safety systems, etc. The SX will ride on larger wheels and include unique styling, Harman Kardon sound system, etc. The top SXL model will get attention with the Nappa leather seats, heated first two rows, cooled front seats, heated steering wheel, etc.

2020 Kia Sorento

Kia made adjustments to the suspension and steering system and also ditched the turbo-4 engine option for the 2019 model year. The improved six-speed automatic and a new 8-speed auto gearbox also arrived with the recent mid-update.

The 2020 Kia Sorento will stay with the unchanged mechanics. The base 2.4-litre non-turbo four-cylinder engine will come in the combination with the six-speed automatic transmission. The engine delivers 185 hp and torque 178 pound-feet.

Better performance will deliver models with the 3.3-liter V-6 engine under the hood. This engine performs with the 8-speed automatic gearbox. It delivers 290 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque.

The model will tow up to 5000 pounds. The fuel economy with the base engine will be 25 mpg combined or 23 mpg combined with the all-wheel drive. More power with the V-6 will cost several mpg and the all-wheel-drive V-6 will return 21 mpg combined.

2020 Genesis GV80: News, Design, Release

Hyundai’s upmarket division Genesis has had the focus on the
sedan models so far but with the SUV sells booming the brand is now changing
the course in that direction. The Genesis GV80 Concept presented at the 2017
New York Auto Show hinted the arrival of the first SUV model from the brand and
the upcoming mid-size GV80 was spotted in the form which seems production
ready. The model should hit the market as the 2020 Genesis GV80 and go against
the established names in the industry like the BMW X5, Audi Q7, Mercedes GLE,
etc. The reports indicate also that Genesis has another smaller GV70 SUV in the
plan to compete in the segment with the BMW X3.

The brand’s new model should borrow sharp styling cues from the mentioned concept model while inside the cockpit we should expect a similar design as in the brand’s sedans.  The engine range should also mimic the powertrain options in the sedan lineup with the possible introduction of the new V-6 unit.

2020 Genesis GV80: Design

The 2020 Genesis GV80 is still the unsolved mystery as
Geneses hides details about the model while we can draw some cues from the
prototype version.

First of all, it’s not known yet what platform the new
Genesis SUV will use. Judging by the spy photos the model is likely based on
the rear-wheel-drive architecture of the G80 sedan. Some sources suggest also
the stretched Santa Fe’s platform or the unit from the new Palisade model. Still,
the first scenario seems like the most probable.

On the other hand, the styling of the model seems to have
inhered the sharp design cues from the Concept version. The mesh grille seems
to have the similar design as on the GV80 Concept but slightly redefined
proportions. The horizontal oriented headlights follow also the pattern form
the concept car but with the enlarged dimensions and more conventional design.

Interior, equipment:

Inside the cabin, the mid-size Genesis SUV should use
similar design cues as the brand’s newest sedans. Still, the model will get a
unique steering wheel and reports claim also the new controllers for the
model.

The GV80 will, of course, employ the high-quality materials combined with contrasting surfaces and trim details. The latest tech will be used and advanced safety systems like adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind spot monitors, etc.

2020 Genesis GV80: Powertrains

As for the engine options, the new 3.6-liter V-6 could be in
the progress and arrive with the 2020 Genesis GV80. The model will offer both
rear-drive and four-wheel drive option and automatic transmission.

A 3.3-liter turbocharged V-6 engine used in the G80 should
also be the option. This engine makes 365 hp and torque of 376 lb-ft in the
sedan model. Other options from the sedan a 3.8-liter V6 and potent 420 hp
5.0-liter V-8 could also be the part of the deal. The plug-in hybrid version
should appear at some point.

The 2020 Genesis GV80 should reach the showroom late in the
year. Closer to the launch date more details will surface as well as the price.
The model should start in the upper $60,000-range.
