Button Caterpillar

For some reason I have an obsession with making things out of egg cartons.  Today it was rainy out and we decide to do a craft.  The plan was for Z to do the craft while I assisted.  Well, he ended up running off so I ended up doing it by myself, but the kids can definitely do this!

Supplies Needed:

Buttons
Pipe Cleaners
Glue
Paperclip
Egg Carton

First we cut the egg carton in half lengthwise so we had 2 strips of 6 egg cups.  I used a paperclip to poke holes in each side of the egg carton to feed the pipe cleaner through.

Once it was fed through I thread the button with the pipe cleaner to make button feet on both sides.

I made button antennas by feeding the pipe cleaner through 2 holes on the top of the first egg cup and attaching the button in the same way.

I added a smily face and buttons on the top of each egg cup and have a fun button caterpillar!
