Baby Egg Carton Balls

Before

After
I am a big fan of upcycling items.  One thing that we are never in a shortage of are egg cartons!  I have been trying to find things to keep the babies occupied without actually getting new toys so I decided to make egg carton balls.

It is very simple and my 4 year old helped.  We cut out the egg cups from the carton and then taped 2 together to create a ball.

We used the lid to toss the balls into.  They are the perfect size for the babies and Z could play too.  We all had fun tossing the balls into different things and just throwing them around.

The kids had a blast and once the balls got crushed or slobbered on, we just put them in the recycle bin.

A variation you can do for older kids would be to add numbers, letters, or colors to the balls and use a 2nd  egg carton with matching letters, numbers, or colors to toss the ball in the correct spot.
