Beach Rock Jar

I acquired a few glass jars that had originally held candles.  These jars are pretty neat and I used 2 of them in a creation for March Package Pals and I had one left.

After our trip to the Beach I needed to do something with all of these neat beach rocks and I needed somewhere to store them because I foresee tons of trips to the beach and a lot more rocks!

I pulled out my jar and some twine and got to work.

I used craft glue to glue the twine to the glass jar and while that was drying I glued rocks to the lid and one shell (that Z insisted I use!) in the middle.

After my glue dried on the twine I added my rocks.  I really love the look of it and I like that it is functional and will hold my new found beach rocks!

  8. Since I just cleaned a collection of rocks from under my son's bed yesterday I think this is a fabulous idea! Somewhere for them to go. I don't mind the collections, and I'm glad they have fun but yikes what a mess that was. I need this jar! :) Thanks for linking up with me @ Great Idea Thursdays.
