Rainy Day Fun

What do you on a rainy day or any other day you are stuck in the house?

I try to get creative and do different things.
You can read about our play in tunnels and tents here.

We also like to paint, color on the windows, and learn and play with different things.

I help my son type words on the computer, we do the Tag Map, build puzzles, make marshmallow creations, and play with Lincoln Logs (when the baby is sleeping).

Over the past few days my son was sick but he wanted to do something besides sit and watch TV so we tried a little bit of everything. First we did some watercolor painting on coffee filters. He wasn't very interested in that so we painted on paper instead. Next we read some books with the baby.

After that was done, he was still bored so he colored the sliding glass door with window markers. This is by far one of his favorite things to do. He gets to draw whatever he wants for however long he wants. And it's such a large space, his creation can be huge!

I always look for new things to do to keep his interest, even just for those days that I just need him to keep busy and stay content without my constant attention.

What is your favorite quiet time activity?

  3. When it rains at our house, the audiobooks come on. There are lots of great sites to download them from, but we use this one a lot because the stories are original and free. Here's the link if anyone is interested. http://www.twirlygirlshop.com/moral-stories-for-kids
