Everybody needs a little ME time.
I know that I do and sometimes it just can't wait until after the kids are in bed for the night. It's especially important on those days where getting a 5 minute break from the kids is impossible.
It is ok to step away for a minute, as long as your kids are safe.
Sometimes if I just need a minute, I will turn on a tv show for my 4 year old and put the baby in a safe toy or play area and go in the other room for 5 minutes.
Everybody needs time to themselves and teaching your kids that it is ok to need quiet time and to take time for themselves is important also.
It doesn't matter what you do with your ME time. You can sit quietly at the kitchen table, read a book, drink a coffee, really anything that you find relaxing.
I like to read novels. I can get engulfed in the story and it takes me away, even if only for 5 minutes. Sometimes all you need is a little brain vacation!
I have been trying to take a 5-10 minute ME time break every day. Sometimes I get lucky and all of the kids are in bed and quiet for at least 10 minutes at the same time.
It is hard to sit and do nothing when you are surrounded by laundry that needs done, dishes that need washed, bathrooms that need cleaned, floors that need vacuumed, and toys strewn across the house; but sometimes that is exactly what you need to do.
What do you do during your ME time?
